At this writing, all but the Goerschner book are out of print. and some have become very difficult to find. Listed with each title are copies I have in my personal library. Beginning with a chapter on the basics of color, I, (and eleven other artists, many of whose stories appeared in Being An Artist,) illustrate varied principles and methods of conceptualizing and applying color, each in commented step-by-step demonstrations. A popular title, it was also published in England, and in a Chinese translation.

In many ways my favorite book, owing the fun I had putting it together, and because I got to include so much of my own work in it. I had a grand time learning from twenty-two other artists, who contributed their creativity, their methods, and their art, for a book that's chock-a-block with idea starters for every artist.

A "fly on the wall" at painting workshops at Scottsdale, Arizona and Cambria, California, I questioned, videotaped and photographed Ted as he conducted his popular oil painting workshops. Then I combined photos and text to re-create the workshop experience itself, complete with problems solved, failures dealt with, capturing the excitement of an intensive week for the reader. My second-best-selling book, it has remained in print for over 8 years, and going strong!

This book is still in print after 11 + years, and in the process has become my best selling book.

I sat at Marilyn's shoulder with video and still cameras to capture as clearly as possible her inimitable watercolor technique in a series of stunning demonstration paintings. This has been a very popular title, and has been reprinted in a Japanese edition.

This book is crammed with Harley's insightful, witty, often outrageous way of presenting the basics of making art that many of us believed had been lost during the non-objective art revolution. Loaded with demonstrations, checklists, pointers and commentary on every phase of art, this book (as Harley puts it) is meant to be found paint-spattered and dog-eared beside your easel.
